Background
Founded in 1947 and was in the name of Shanghai Gasoline Engine Factory, Shanghai Bozhong Gasoline Engine Co., Ltd. (SBZGE) is a member of SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) Group. Its main product includes the small sized gasoline engine for agricultural application and motorcycle engine it was once famous for, and now SBZGE is engaged in the machining of engine and transmission components for passenger car. Now SBZGE is equipped with the know-how and capability to offer the automotive field with the following products and service:

1. Die casting and machining for aluminum die casting parts of automotive engine
2. Machining of Non-ferrous parts
3. Machining of motor shafts for exportation4. Components and assemblies of motorcycle

Location
SSBZGE lately moved to Wai Gao Qiao Industry Zone, Pudong New Area, a place that is always in the front edge of Reform & Open-Up of Shanghai City. And now SBZGE has advantage geographical location for nearing Pudong Road(North) Exit of Shanghai Outer Ring Tunnel and Xiang Ying Road Tunnel of Middle Ring Tunnel, so it is very convenient to go to Pudong International Airport, Wu Song Area, Wu Jiao Chang Area, Outer Ring Tunnel and Middle Ring Tunnel from SBZGE.

SBZGE has a group of Secondary and Senior experienced technicians to deal with engineering and administration. The average technique level of technical workers is four level, and in them, there are more than 40 members of engineers, secondary and senior experienced technicians ,who form technical strength and backbone team of SBZGE
Equipment
MDie Casting:
SSBZGE had just invested a new die-casting plant . This plant is installed with fully automatic die casting machines ranged from 280 Ton, 500 Ton and 800 Ton. And new plant also has some advanced inspection instruments such as Metaiscan2550 Metal Analysis Instrument (Spectral Analysis) and Xj-150 X-Ray Detector, etc.? With this plant in production, SBZGE has realized its full process coverage from material incoming to die casting and qualified machining finished products, and this has made it possible for SBZGE to gain a better control over the processes and finally guarantee the customer quality and quantity needs..
Machining:
SBZGE has 5 sets of Germany made DMG60 Horizontal Machine Center, 2 sets of Korea made Hyundai Horizontal Machine Center , 7 sets of America made SABRE Vertical Machine Center and 1 set of Japan made Mazak VTC-160A/ZPC Vertical Machine Center .SBZGE also has the large-scale ultrasound cleaning machine, impregnation machine, heat treatment machine and other 100 sets of universal equipment.

Concept
ICustomer First, Quality First is the ultimate goal that SBZGE has always been pursuing. Since SBZGE started the batch supply the following sorts of aluminum die casting parts:

For passenger car engine of Shanghai Volkswagen in 1998, the quantity of those parts have been stably increased ,and the quality of those parts have always been improved by the endless efforts of pursuit for perfection. Of late years, SBZGE has widened its business to oversea market, for example, it provides die-casting and machining processes of aluminum castings for GM (American). Now the annual capacity of SBZGE for die-casting and machining aluminum castings has reached 1,000,000 pieces. At the same time, with the exploiting abilities, SBZGE has actualized the exploiting and supplying of new parts for new passenger car engine of Shanghai Volkswagen. Otherwise, SBZGE is also machining some other aluminum castings for many China and Foreign Joint Venture Companies which belong to SAIC

Quality Certificates
In Dec 1998, SBZGE celebrated its ISO9002 quality audit approval; and in Feb 2001, SBZGE passed the QS9000 and VDA6.1 quality system audit carried out by TÜV, Germany; and in July 2003, for ISO/TS16949 and ISO 9001:2000, SBZGE gained the approval for the audit carried out by OQS. In Sept. 2004, SBZGE obtained the quality approval of ISO/TS16949: 2002 which carried out by OQS . And in Dec. 2004, SBZGE also passed the quality system audit carried out by Quality Assurance Department of Volkswagen (Germany) －Asia and the Pacific Area. And now SBZGE has been a member of the “ Shanghai Santana Community ”.
